We match the hairstyle, facial hair and glasses to the photo; in the design preview you'll also see his favourite shirt or jumper. It isn't a portrait but a recognisable likeness — one that everyone at the family table will know.

For a birthday, his name and age under the figure are enough. For a wedding anniversary a frame works better — it's about what you've built together. The stand fits a short inscription, one or two lines: “Still saying yes”, “Captain of our team”, “Mr Fix-It of this house”, or just the children's names. The frame background has more room — it fits your surname, your wedding date and a sentence only the two of you know.
